Cholmondeley 2015 Report, Cholmondeley 2014 Report, Cholmondeley 2013 Report, Cholmondeley 2011 Report, Cholmondeley 2010 Report This was our 3rd year at this event. We were the first Club to arrive on Thursday 14th, the set-up day, and this gave us the opportunity to officially increase our pitch area. Friday 15th, Press Day was wet and windy and our gazebo was shredded! However, as usual there were lots of interesting vehicles to see in the paddock and on the track. Vauxhall was officially represented this year by the Heritage Centre’s splendid 1920’s 30/98 which in its day was a rival to the Vintage Bentley. It looked splendid with its yellow paintwork as it made its majestic way around the track. Vauxhall also brought along the Australian made Maloo 6.2 litre V8 pick-up. Everyone had their favourites, mine included ‘Brutus’ the 47-litre BMW Aero Engined Special from the Sinsheim Museum in Germany and Graham Hill’s World Championship Winning BMW Grand Prix car from 1962. Also, Sammy Miller brought along and demonstrated the legendary 1957 500cc Moto Guzzi V8 Grand Prix Motorcycle. Our sponsors, Morris Lubricants, brought along their Sentinel Steam Wagon which made an impressive sight when it went around the track at some speed amidst clouds of steam and smoke. Fortunately the weather dried up for the Saturday evening fireworks concert which, this year, was in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and 50 years of James Bond films. Everyone enjoyed the patriotic music and atmosphere, Union Flags were waved vigorously! The weather improved on Sunday giving the photographers amongst our members the chance to get some good shots of the track action around the chicane. One of the highlights of the day was when the Red Arrows flew over our stand! I feel proud the members and friends below promoted the Club in such good spirit and out stand was one of the best presented throughout the event.
