w/e December 14th 1976 Autocar/Vauxhall Vauxhall reprint of Autocar  road test of the Cavalier 1600GL. Autotest. Verdict "Sales echo our thoughts that the Cavalier is a very appealing car"  NB: They criticise it for engine noise, but in the photo of the engine bay it can be seen that a rubber grommet has become detached.   
January 1977 Consumers Association "Three Family Saloons" Group test  of Cavalier 1600L, Chrysler Alpine S and Marina 1.8 Special.  9

Verdict "Cavalier is incontestably a finer driver's car, it feels as though it is the most sophisticated vehicle in terms of engineering, overall design and construction.
