This was our fifth year at this unique event. As usual we were the first Club to arrive on the Thursday and once we had setup our Stand the smell of cooking bacon made everyone ready for breakfast! There was an additional concert this year on the Friday evening, Status Quo were live on stage and support by the RPJ Band (Rick Parffit Junior) and James Toesland (Ex BSB, WSB and MotoGP Motorcyclist), members were soon rocking! There was all the usual high speed action on the track, water and in the air, everyone had their favourites. There was an Italian theme this year with Maserati Cars celebrating their 100th anniversary and lots of exotic Italian cars and motorcycles on display and in the track. The Saturday evening fireworks concert featured Aled Jones, Laura Wright, Only Men Aloud and Celeste. After the concert the opening World Cup Match for England was shown live on the big screen. Alas England was beaten by Italy. Sunday was another full day of action, through the whole three days of the Pageant there was a steady stream of visitors to our stand, the nostalgia factor being strong again. We are pleased that young Joshua Jones with Dad and also new member Andrew Pye all called in at the stand to say hello.Compared to last year there were more than double the number of cars and members participating on our stand, which to me, as organiser was very pleasing and made all my behind the scenes work worthwhile. Everyone said they had enjoyed the event and wished to return next year.
